Droughts: Most of the families in northern Uganda depend on agriculture for their livelihoods.The frequency of droughts and rise in temperature is affecting agricultural land and their livelihoods and survival is at stake.
The work we are doing supports interventions in promoting renuwable energy,habital conservation,sustainable forestry and species conservation.
Through local councils community-based volunteers and networks, we help build skills of individuals to take steps to lead healthier and more productive lives.
TCEI has designed and implemented WASH programs such as Rainwater Harvesting Systems, Biosand Water Filters, Ecological Sanitation (EcoSan) Toilets, Tippy Taps for Hand washing, Community-Based Water Management, Bucket Chlorination, Water Kiosks, Solar Water Disinfection (SODIS).
TCEI focuses on provision of enterprise development services including skilling,business advisory services,mentoring,financial literature and Civic Education..
Our development programmes of work are about lasting solutions that support communities to build better lives for themselves grow resilience and protect livelihoods.
Over 150 participants including ex-offenders 60 women and 40 youths have undergone training to gain additional skills in carpentry,hairdressing,cookery,plumbing and digital literacy that allow individuals to enchance their productivity,responsiveness to labour market and in turn have agency otheir lives and livelihoods
Over 250 disabled children and adults where reached through our health and nutrition programme.
We work hand in hand with homes for the disabled to grow nutrious food by some of the children and spport the effort of different forms of therapy that improves quality of life.
